Valencia Coach Hire for Groups
Valencia is flat, compact and close to its airport, which suits a coach well. The limits are in the old town, where traffic is restricted, and in March, when the Fallas close much of the centre.
What is known about the emission rules
Under national law (Ley 7/2021) Valencia must run a low-emission zone. Its current rules for coaches and for foreign-registered vehicles could not be confirmed on an official page. The operator checks what applies to the vehicle you book, and the answer is likely to turn on its label or emission class.

Ciutat Vella from the edge
Ciutat Vella has restricted traffic. The coach drops the group on the fringe, and from there it is a walk to the Micalet and the Cathedral, the silk exchange (Llotja) and the central market. No official list of coach stops exists, so the operator names the stop and the place where the coach waits.
Out in the former bed of the Turia, south-east of the old town, the arts and sciences complex and L'Oceanogràfic have wide roads all round. For a coach, it is the easier half of a Valencia day.

- Circuit Ricardo Tormo (Cheste) — Motor-racing circuit about 30 km west of the city (MotoGP)

Coach access and parking rules in Valencia
- Valencia Airport (VLC, at Manises) is about 10 km by road from the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, about 15 min in light traffic. Journeys take longer at peak times.
- Valencia is required by national law (Ley 7/2021) to have a low-emission zone. Its current rules for coaches and for vehicles registered abroad could not be checked on an official page for this file: the operator confirms what applies to the vehicle booked.
- Spanish low-emission zones use the DGT environmental label (distintivo ambiental): 0 EMISIONES, ECO, C and B; vehicles without a label are classed "A". For vehicles with more than 8 passenger seats and heavy vehicles, label C generally goes to vehicles registered from 2014 and label B to those registered from 2006. Vehicles registered abroad have no DGT label, and each city treats them in its own way (see the notes for each city).
- No official list of coach set-down points was found for this file. Ciutat Vella has restricted traffic, so coaches set down at its edge; the operator confirms the stopping point.
- València Joaquín Sorolla is the station for high-speed trains to Madrid; València Nord, beside the Plaça de Bous, serves regional and long-distance trains.
- During the Falles (March) large parts of the centre close to traffic; see the event facts.
- Speed limits for buses and coaches (Reglamento General de Circulación, art. 48.1.a): 100 km/h on motorways (autopistas and autovías) and 90 km/h on conventional roads. Vehicles doing school transport or carrying minors drive 10 km/h below those limits (art. 48.1.b), and a bus carrying standing passengers or without seat belts may not exceed 80 km/h on any road outside built-up areas.
- Seat belts must be worn wherever they are fitted, including in coaches (Reglamento General de Circulación, art. 117.1). In vehicles with more than nine seats including the driver, passengers must be told that belts are compulsory, by the driver, the guide or the group leader, by audiovisual means or by signs at each seat (art. 117.2).
- EU drivers' hours rules (Regulation (EC) No 561/2006) apply to coach drivers: at most 9 hours of driving a day (10 hours twice a week), a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours of driving and at least 11 hours of daily rest. Long day trips are planned around these limits.
- Some Spanish motorways are toll roads (autopistas de peaje, usually numbered AP-); the operator plans the route.
The Albufera and El Palmar
The Albufera lagoon and El Palmar are about 15 minutes by coach. Groups take boat trips on the lagoon and eat in the village, so the coach usually waits a few hours. Pair it with a morning in the city and the driver's day stays short.
Fallas, fairs and longer trips
In March the Fallas take over the centre, and many streets shut to vehicles. Hotels inside the closures may be reachable only on foot, so choose hotels and set-down points together. Feria Valencia is at Benimàmet, on the airport side, and the Palau de Congressos is to the north-west.
Sagunto is about 35 minutes away, Xàtiva about an hour and Requena, for Utiel-Requena wine, about 1 h 5 min. Benidorm takes about 2 h 5 min and Alicante about 2 h 30 min.
What organisers ask us
How far is Valencia airport?
Roughly 15 minutes when the roads are clear: about 10 km to the Plaça de l'Ajuntament. Aena lists no place for coaches to collect passengers there, so the operator agrees one with you.
Which station do trains from Madrid use?
València Joaquín Sorolla. València Nord, beside the bullring, handles regional and other long-distance trains.
Can a coach meet a cruise group in the port?
Yes. The cruise terminals are in the port of Valencia, about 18 km from the airport. The operator confirms where the coach waits for the ship's passengers.
