Málaga Airport coach transfers for Costa del Sol groups

No published coach stop: agree one

Málaga-Costa del Sol has no coach pick-up point or coach waiting area in Aena's published information. Use the terminal on your booking and fix two things with the operator: where the group gathers inside, and where the coach stops outside. Tour-operator desks are in the baggage reclaim hall on floor 0, and the public transport interchange is in front of Arrivals, which helps when you describe the spot to a tired group.

The express car park beside the terminal is for dropping off and picking up, with a limited free time; charges may apply after that. It is not a place for a coach to wait out a delay.

Along the coast to Marbella and the resorts

Marbella's Plaza de los Naranjos is about 51 km from the terminal, around 50 minutes on the coast motorway. Puerto Banús is about 8 km beyond the town. Neither Marbella nor Puerto Banús has an official list of coach stops, so the operator confirms each hotel stop when booking. If several hotels share one coach, list them in driving order and say which guests go where.

Into central Málaga

The Plaza de la Constitución is about 13 km away, roughly 20 minutes in light traffic. The centre has a camera-controlled low-emission zone: non-local vehicles without a label are already barred, and from December 2026 non-local label B vehicles are too. The city does not say how group coaches are treated, so the operator checks the vehicle booked. The historic centre is closed to through traffic, and coaches set down at its edge.

The cruise terminals are about 14 km from the airport, around 25 minutes. On embarkation day, leave a margin for a late flight and for bags.

Inland after landing

Granada is about 137 km from this airport, around 2 h 15 min. Ronda from the coast uses a winding mountain road. Either way, the airport run and the touring count as one driving day for the driver's hours.

Can a group of eight go by train instead?

Cercanías line C1 stops at the airport, about 12 minutes to central Málaga and 34 to Fuengirola. With luggage and hotels away from the stations, a minibus is often easier.

Is it worth flying into Granada instead?

If Granada is the first stop, Granada-Jaén airport is about 19 km from the city centre. Málaga usually has more flights.
