Benidorm Coach Hire for Hotels, Parks and Day Trips

Benidorm groups are hotel-based, so most journeys start and end at a hotel entrance. The detail that matters is the age of the coach, because the town's low-emission zone covers both beaches and the old town.

The zone and the age of the coach

The zone is 74 hectares split into three: the Centro area, Levante together with the old town, and the beachfront along the Paseo de Poniente. Camera points at 22 entrances watch it, and it has worked since the start of 2025.

Free entry is for C, ECO and zero-emission labels. A B label, or no label at all, means restricted access, with temporary entry requested on the city's platform. In coach terms: a coach first registered in 2014 or later goes in, and one from before 2014 needs an authorisation. If the hotel is inside the zone, ask the operator to confirm the coach booked.

Hotel pick-ups

The hotels are on the two beaches, Levante and Poniente, around the old town and Rincón de Loix, and on the AP-7 side close to the theme parks. The town lists no coach set-down points for these areas; the operator agrees each one with the hotel and the city. With a group across several hotels, send names and the order of pick-up, and have each party in the lobby a few minutes early.

Coach access and parking rules in Benidorm

  • Alicante-Elche airport (ALC) is about 58 km by road from Benidorm old town, about 1 h by coach in light traffic, by the AP-7. Valencia airport (VLC) is about 151 km (about 2 h 10 min).
  • Benidorm has a low-emission zone (ZBE) of 74 hectares in three parts: Centro, Levante (with the old town) and the Paseo de Poniente beachfront. It has been operational since 1 January 2025, with an information phase first; access is controlled by cameras at 22 points.
  • ZBE access: residents of the zone, urban public transport, vehicles with a special authorisation and vehicles with the C, ECO or zero-emission label may enter. Vehicles without a label or with the B label are restricted. Temporary or one-off access is requested through the city's ZBE platform. For coaches this means vehicles registered from 2014 (C label) enter, while older coaches need an authorisation. Check before travel.
  • No official list of coach set-down points was found for the hotel areas: the operator confirms the stopping point with the hotel and the city when booking.

Theme parks, the island and the old town

Terra Mítica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar are on the edge of town, a short transfer from the beach hotels. Boats leave the port for the Isla de Benidorm. The Balcón del Mediterráneo viewpoint stands on the headland between the two beaches, and the Palau d'Esports l'Illa hosts events including the Benidorm Fest.

Airport and the Costa Blanca

From Alicante-Elche airport the AP-7 brings a coach to Benidorm in about an hour, about 58 km; the Valencia alternative is some 151 km away (about 2 h 10 min). Some AP- motorways are toll roads. Altea and Villajoyosa take about 25 minutes, the waterfalls at the Fonts de l'Algar half an hour, Calp 40, Xàbia and Dénia about an hour, Valencia 2 h 5 min.

What organisers ask us

Which airport serves Benidorm?

Alicante-Elche, about 58 km away. Valencia is the alternative at about 151 km.

Can an older coach drive to a hotel inside the zone?

A coach registered before 2014 has the B label or none, so it needs an authorisation through the city's platform. The operator arranges it or books a newer vehicle.

Is Guadalest a half-day trip?

Yes. The castle village is about 21 km inland, roughly 35 minutes each way, so a morning or an afternoon is enough.
