Cruise Transfers: Terminal, Airport and Shore Day

Spain's four big cruise ports each have more than one place a ship can berth. The transfer starts with the right terminal, so check it on the cruise documents before anything else.

Name the terminal, not just the port

In Barcelona, cruise calls are moving onto the Moll Adossat. The World Trade Center terminal on the Moll de Barcelona works until the end of 2026 and then shuts, and the older Adossat terminals are being replaced, so the only safe reference is the terminal printed on your cruise documents. Coaches may drop and collect passengers there but not park. In Palma, a ship lies either at the Dique del Oeste or at the Muelle de Poniente. Málaga puts big ships at Terminals A and B on the Muelle de Levante and smaller ones at the Palmeral terminal near the centre. In Valencia, the berths are the Muelle Transversal and the Muelle de Poniente, by the port's northern entrance.

Ship to airport on turnaround day

The airport legs are short. The Moll Adossat is about 20 km from Barcelona airport, around 35 minutes by coach from Terminal 1. Palma's Dique del Oeste and Málaga's terminals are each about 14 km from their airports, and Valencia's about 18 km, all around 25 to 30 minutes in light traffic. The time goes on the quay: disembarkation, luggage and gathering the group. Give the operator the ship's name, its arrival time and every flight time, and leave a margin for queues.

Rules the group organiser needs

  • Barcelona's cruise terminals are on the Moll Adossat and, until the end of 2026, at the World Trade Center on the Moll de Barcelona; check the terminal on the cruise documents
  • Palma's ships berth either on the Dique del Oeste or on the Muelle de Poniente; the Dique del Oeste is about 14 km by road from Palma airport
  • Valencia's port authority confirms cruise call dates only 24 hours before arrival

Shore excursions and changing rules

All-aboard time ends every shore day. Montserrat is about 1 h 25 min from the Adossat. From Málaga's quay, Granada is about 2 h 10 min away, so an Alhambra visit inside one port call is short. Palma caps cruise calls under a 2027 to 2031 agreement, and its Bus Nàutic sea shuttle is due to begin on 1 November 2026. In Valencia the port authority confirms calls just 24 hours ahead: check the schedule again the day before.

What organisers ask us

Can the coach wait at the Barcelona terminal while passengers check in?

It can set down and pick up passengers and luggage there, but it may not park in the cruise area. Car parks in and around the port serve longer waits.

Which Palma berth is the 14 km airport figure for?

The Dique del Oeste. Some ships use the Muelle de Poniente instead, so check the berth on the documents.

Is there a meeting area at Málaga's terminals?

Yes. There are public pick-up and drop-off areas in front of Terminals A and B and near the Palmeral terminal. The operator agrees the exact spot with you.
