Meeting the Coach at Twelve Spanish Airports
A coach almost never waits at the arrivals door. Each airport has its own place for coaches, or none published at all, and the road time into town varies. One page per airport below.
Coach bays, kerbs and car parks
At Madrid-Barajas, coaches use the bus terminal by module F of car park P4 at Terminal T4, or the bus park at T1; the T4 arrivals road is closed to them. At Barcelona-El Prat, Aena lists coach places on level 0 of Terminal T1, in the North and South zones, and bays at T2A and T2C. Always check the terminal on the flight.
Seville and Jerez both run a coach park for tourist coaches close to the terminal, and Santiago has a coach bay on the arrivals level. In Palma, coaches stop in front of the terminal. Malaga, Alicante-Elche, Valencia, Bilbao, Granada-Jaén and Girona publish no coach pickup place, so the operator agrees one. The car parks at Granada-Jaén and Girona are too low for a coach. Short-stay areas give a limited free time; after it, charges may apply.
What organisers ask us
What do you need for an airport pickup?
The flight number, terminal, scheduled arrival, headcount and amount of luggage. The meeting point is agreed with the operator when booking.
Is Alicante airport in Alicante?
No, it is in the municipality of Elche, about 16 km by road from Alicante's town hall.
Can a car with driver collect us at arrivals?
Yes, if it is booked in advance. A VTC car may only carry passengers on a pre-booked service, and Aena lists pickup places for these cars at the larger airports.
