Coach Hire for Holy Week in Seville

Seville's Holy Week 2027 begins on Palm Sunday, 21 March, and ends on Easter Sunday, the 28th. Processions hold the centre day and night, and a coach plan works around them, never through them.

How the processions use the streets

Every day brings several processions, each from its own church in its own district. All of them pass along the Carrera Oficial between the Plaza de la Campana and the Cathedral before heading home. Some stay out for more than 10 hours. The Madrugá, the night between Holy Thursday and Good Friday (25 to 26 March 2027), keeps the centre full until morning.

Routes and times appear each year in the procession programmes. Build the coach timings from the current programme, not from last year's.

Where the coach can work

No coach plan for Holy Week has been published, and no official list of city-centre coach stops was found. The operator confirms set-down and pick-up points for the hotel and the day, outside the routes, with the group walking the last part.

In October 2026 the old town has no label-based low-emission rule, but several of its streets are closed to general traffic. The Isla de la Cartuja is a low-emission zone that unlabelled vehicles may not enter on working days from 07:00 to 19:00. Those are the current rules; the operator checks them before travel.

Dates and place

  • Palm Sunday 21 March to Easter Sunday 28 March 2027; the Madrugá is the night of Holy Thursday to Good Friday (25 to 26 March 2027)
  • Processions from churches across Sevilla; all pass along the Carrera Oficial, from the Plaza de la Campana to the Cathedral

Arriving, visiting, leaving

From the airport, plan on 25 minutes or so for the 11 km in light traffic, and expect the final stretch to the hotel to be slower in Holy Week.

Opening hours at the monuments can shift during the week. If the group has timed visits at the Alcázar or the Cathedral, check them against that week's hours before fixing coach times. On a quieter day, Itálica (about 10 km) or Carmona (about 37 km) take the group away from the crowds for a few hours.

What organisers ask us

Can a coach cross the centre during the Madrugá?

No. Through that night the central streets belong to the processions and the crowds. Plan pick-ups well away from the routes.

What should we send when booking?

The hotel address, arrival and departure flights, any timed visits, and the days and processions the group wants to see. The operator then proposes stops that suit the routes on those days.

When is the Feria de Abril?

Two weeks after Holy Week, from Tuesday 13 to Sunday 18 April 2027.
